Gun Holster Clips | Dynamis Alliance
When choosing a holster for Everyday Carry (EDC), one of the many options you get to decide on is whether to run your holster with loops, or clips. Traditionally, loops have been much more secure than the clips offered by manufacturers; however, clips can often be more discreet. Loops also often require threading the holster on and off your belt, whereas clips allowed the holster to simply be slid into your waistband securing your holster. Manufacturers have been designing better clips for their factory holsters, but aftermarket companies have been ahead of the curve. Dynamis is one of those companies, and they produce the Zero Clip.
So, what is the Zero Clip? It is an aftermarket clip designed to work with Dynamis holsters and knife sheath but works equally well with most manufacturers holsters and many sheaths. It is constructed of heat treated metal, which is a big improvement over most clips which are made of various polymers or plastics. The metal allows for great strength while providing a much thinner profile than polymer clips. Additionally, this makes the holster less intrusive since there is less bulk and draws less attention when wearing a tucked in shirt. Yes, the Dynamis clips are designed to be tucked in! The “tuckable” feature is fantastic for those carrying in anything from business casual to formal attire and especially helpful for those who may be carrying at a workplace not receptive to a weapon. Although far from being the only “tuckable” clip on the market, the metal construction and other features make it stand out.
My favorite feature of the Zero Clip is the built in “tooth,” also made of metal, that is an integral part of the design of the clip. This is advertised as a “cloth grabbing tooth,” and they are right - definitely a superior attribute. It allows the user to wear the holster without a belt. This tooth is not noticeable until you draw your firearm, and then you can feel it catch and latch onto whatever you are wearing. The tooth allows you to wear the holster in board shorts and still have confidence that the holster will be retained in your waistband as you draw your firearm. This also applies to workout clothes, including shorts, joggers, and sweats. Finally - a clip that allows you to use nearly any holster of your choosing, in whatever attire you want, to include the often-challenging gym clothes!
The Zero Clip also works with knife sheaths, or other Kydex pouches. It is adaptable and versatile. Additionally, it is offered in several variations: long, short, and an option with a 45-degree angle on the clip. I used one with the 45-degree angle and found it helped push the butt of my pistol in towards my body, allowing better concealment. Zero Clips are sold in pairs, and retail for just $15.99. Oh, and did I mention they are made right here in the good ole USA? Go check the Zero Clip out at www.dynamisalliance.com , and while you’re there take a look at their other products.
